The Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) is now equipped with Vivado design software and Virtex UltraScale+ FPGAs.  These pre-configured EC2 F1 instances combine unprecedented performance and convenience in a scalable, 24/7, on-demand environment.

F1 instances are easy to program and come with everything you need to develop, simulate, debug, and compile your hardware accelerated code.  Advanced Vivado projects can be compiled on multiple EC2 servers concurrently.

New algorithms can be mapped to EC2 F1 instances equipped with as many as eight Virtex UltraScale+ FPGAs.   Finalized FPGA designs can be registered as Amazon FPGA Images (AFI), and deployed on F1 instances in just a few clicks.   Researchers can choose to share their completed Amazon FPGA Images (AFIs) with other groups or even sell them on the AWS marketplace.  Learn More>>

AWS Educate for Academics

AWS Educate is available to accredited educational institutions, professors, and students free of charge to access the cloud computing services. The membership benefits include:

  • Professors and students associated with educational member institutions receive twice as many AWS credits, demos and special on-campus programs.
  • Professors, teaching assistants, and educators receive access to AWS technology, open source content for their courses, training resources, and a community of cloud evangelists.
  • Students receive credits for hands-on experience with AWS technology, training, content, career pathways, and job board.
