Embedded Linux for the Xilinx Microblaze Workshop

| This hands-on workshop introduces participants to embedded Linux development on the Xilinx Microblaze™ soft core processor. Presented by the developer of the Linux kernel port to the Xilinx Microblaze™, the workshop will help attendees to build the skills, confidence and resources necessary to teach this fascinating and growing technology in their home institutions. The workshop is presented in a laboratory environment, with many practical exercises to complement the lecture materials. |

- Who should attend? University faculty involved in Processor related courses and research that are interested in the Xilinx embedded systems development flow, and those wishing to introduce soft-core embedded Linux to their undergraduate or postgraduate programs.
- Prerequisits:
- FPGA design experience
- Basic knowledge of Xilinx ISE and EDK tools
- Basic understanding of C programming
- Basic microprocessor experience, understanding MicroBlaze™ systems
- A desire to learn about embedded Linux
- Skills Gained: After completing this training, attendees will be able to:
- Build a uClinux-ready Microblaze™ hardware platform
- Build and boot a Microblaze™ uClinux kernel image and applications
- Configure basic TCP/IP networking on the Microblaze™ uClinux platform
- Understand the tasks involved in integrating custom logic peripherals to a Microblaze™ uClinux platform
