4.2i Foundation - "File specified in $FILE parameter for [symbol_name] is missing..."

説明

Keywords: Foundation, schematic, $file, parameter, missing, path, length, push, macro, HDL

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
When I attempt to push down into an HDL macro in a schematic project, Foundation reports the following message:

"File specified in $FILE parameter for <symbol_name> is missing."
or
"$File parameter missing."

ソリューション

A problem occurs when a symbol parameter points to HDL code that is saved in a directory path with a directory name greater than 8 characters.

For example:
c:\greater_than_eight\projects\test\TEST_d.vhd

Double-click on the symbol to open the Symbol Properties box. A parameter named $FILE should be visible in the parameter window. The path name may exist in its entirety, or it may be truncated.

For example:
"greater_than_eight"

may be shortened to:

"greate~1",

To work around this problem, remove the path from the symbol attributes (using the Symbol Editor):

$FILE=C:\greater_than_eight\projects\test\TEST_d.vhd

should be:

$FILE=test.vhd
