XPS_LL_TEMAC_v1_01 - "INFO:coreutil - License for component not found"

The ISE 9.2i and 10.1i tools indicate that the evaluation license for XPS_LL_TEMAC has expired on December31, 2008 and June 30, 2009 respectively, and I cannot build a bitstream.

ERROR:Xst:1484 - A core is unlicensed!

Do I need a license to use the hard TEMAC in a Virtex-4 or Virtex-5 FPGA?

XPS_LL_TEMAC is structured so that both the hard and soft cores are generated by the same block of code selected by the parameter C_TEMAC_TYPE. As a result, a valid evaluation license for the soft core is required to generate the hard core.

Following are two ways to work around this issue:

1. Upgrade to the latest EDK release to ensure unexpired hardware evaluation licenses are available.

2. The permanent work-around is to generate the perpetual evaluation key for the XPS_LL_TEMAC soft configuration from the following link:

NOTE: There are no time-out counters in the logic for the hard TEMAC, and the warning generated about hardware evaluation can be ignored; see (Xilinx Answer 29828).
