1.x Licensing - When M1.x software is running, dial-up networking is evoked several times

Keywords: floating license, dial-up, dialup, networking

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
I am running the M1.x software with floating license. Dial-up networking is evoked several times even though M1.x is running on the license server machine. Why is this happening?

This occurs because the modem is the default network card; therefore, when a licensed M1 "client" application (e.g., MAP, PAR, BitGen, TRCE, PROMGen, and Epic in M1.4) needs to check out a license, the computer attempts to dial up the network even though it may be a license server itself.

To work around this problem, reconfigure the computer such that the modem is no longer the default network card. (Please contact your network administrator for specific information.)
