General Description: The Foundation/Alliance install setup program is terminating during initialization (after running setup.exe) with one of the following errors: * Setup Error 102,104, 105, 112, or 301 * Installation hangs * General Protection Fault (GPF) * Program has performed an illegal operation
The following reloutions are the most common causes of install problems. They originally appeared in article number Q100198 from the Installshield web site.
There may be a conflict with a program that is running in the background - screen saver or virus scanning program.
Shut down any programs running in the background and run the installation again.
Make sure the user has write privileges to system directories. A system administrator may need to install the software.
Make sure that uninstaller (IsUnist.exe, IsUn16.exe, Uninst.exe, or Uninst16.exe) is not marked as read-only if it already exists on the user's system. These files would be located in the Windows directory.
Minimize the number of drivers that are loaded by editing the autoexec.bat and config.sys files. Then run the installation again.
