3.1i Design Manager - How do I specify files (EDN, EDF, VHD, VER, SCH, etc.) to be automatically copied to my version or revision subdirectories for maintenance?

説明

Keywords: maintain, source, edn, xnf, edf, archive, restore, schematic, vhdl, verilog, seeds file

Urgency: Standard

General Description:

Is there a way to automatically specify the copying of files into each
and every newly created version or revision subdirectory for the
purpose of storing source netlist information along with
implementation output?

A solution for both 2.1i and 3.1i software is described below.

To access this feature in 2.1i:

The Xilinx Design Manager has a "back-door" feature that allows you
to automatically specify the copying of files into each and every newly
created version or revision directory. To access this feature:

1. Open up a project in Design Manager

2. Select the project name (i.e. - Counter), and right-click
on your mouse. Select "Properties".

NOTE: If you want to specify files to be copied into each
and every newly created version, select "Version List"
from within the Project Properties dialog. If you prefer to
specify files to be copied into each and every newly
created revision, select "Revision List" from within this
same dialog.

3. Within the respective "Files List" dialog, browse for the
file(s) you'd like copied, then "Set" them. Click "OK"
when you're done.

4. The files specified will now be copied upon the creation
of new versions and/or revisions. To verify, take a look
at the contents of the directory structure.

NOTE:Please reference (Xilinx Solution 9756)
if accessing this feature in 3.1i:

1. Open up a project in Design Manager 3.1i

2. Having selected a revision, go to Design->Project Properties
