AR# 8572: 3.1i Virtex-E MAP - MAP outputs incorrect message when processing invalid Virtex LOC constraints.
3.1i Virtex-E MAP - MAP outputs incorrect message when processing invalid Virtex LOC constraints.
Keywords: 2.1i, Virtex-E, DLL, LOC, PROHIBIT, xvkpc:2, match
General Description: The Virtex-E parts have eight DLLs rather than the four found in Virtex parts. The site names for the Virtex-E DLLs have the naming convention "DLL1P" and "DLL1S" (rather than the "DLL1" seen in Virtex parts), so DLL locate constraints must be modified before a Virtex design is re-targeted to Virtex-E.
If an invalid DLL LOC constraint is used, MAP prints an incorrect message to the report file and ignores the constraint. The message looks like this:
WARNING:xvkpc:2 - PROHIBIT site "DLL1" does not match any site in this package.
This problem can be avoided by using the correct DLL site names for the LOC constraints.
